What Happened to Naptime?

According to the schedule, it goes play, lunch, nap.  But the kids have been making up their own schedule.  I try to get them to take a nap, or at least have quiet time after lunch, and most of the time they will look at their books or play quietly in their rooms.  Lately that lack of sleep has been catching up with them.  For the past 3 days at around 4pm the kids are falling asleep on the couch.  Right now Alivia is snoring away on the couch in the living room and Aaron is sound to sleep in the office.  Here's some great pictures from the past couple of days.

A Break from Winter

We had beautiful weather this weekend, so why not enjoy a little break from the snow with a day at the beach.  We drove down to Laguna Beach, had lunch and ice cream and let the kids run around in the sand.

Happy 1st Birthday Baylee!

Baylee is a very active little girl, she is constantly on the go.  Her favorite activity is finding little crumbs around the house and trying to eat them before mom can stop her.  She loves being around others, so much so, she screams at the top of her lungs when you leave the room and she can't follow.  She loves being able to play freely in the play room with her big brother and sister, and they are very good about sharing their toys with her.  Baylee's favorite toy right now is a book.  She likes to flip the pages, but most of all she likes the way they taste.  She is great about taking her naps and going to bed at night.  I started giving her big people food a little while ago, and now she refuses to eat the rest of the baby food, but that's okay, because Aaron and Alivia gladly eat her leftovers.  Baylee is such a sweetheart, it's been a great first year and I can't wait to see what she does next.

Here is a sampling of just how active this little girl is, I took about 100 pictures trying to get a nice shot of her in her new dress.

Sledding

Just over the hill by our house is a great spot to go sledding.  It's a little bit of a walk, (thank you Matt, for letting me wear your snowshoes) but it was worth it, the kids had a ball!  Aaron was a trooper and didn't complain one bit about walking in 5 feet of snow.  Alivia on the other hand was a little whiny so I ended up having to drag her around on the sled.

At the top of the hill was a makeshift rope swing.  I think the kids liked the swing more than sledding.

Back at the house... here's some great pictures of all the snow we got over the last four days, about 50" total.

Snow, snow and more snow!

We finally got a huge snow storm, well actually three back to back storms.  The kids were so excited to put on their snowsuits and boots and get out in the snow.

What's up with the sideways icicles?

Our front door, but looks more like a cave

This picture was from the other day when I was dropping off Nathan at the ski resort, the kids got a kick out of riding up the people mover, but a little disappointed we didn't get to ski back down.
