The twins on the mountain

Alivia and Aaron started skiing/snowboarding this season.  Alivia tried skiing, while Aaron got to snowboard.  They were very excited about going.  Even Baylee wanted to go, but we'll wait til next year.  Alivia seemed to pick up skiing pretty well, Matt would take her all the way to the top and she could turn and slow down pretty well.  Aaron had a little bit harder time on the snowboard, so Matt would have to keep a rope around him to slow him down.

Happy Birthday Baylee!

My little Baylee Sue is 4!  She LOVES Octonauts, the cartoon, so of course she wanted an Octonaut birthday party.  She was so excited to have a party, and I think it turned out great!  She is growing up so fast.  Alivia is always teaching her things she learns at school, and can't wait to start pre-school next fall.  I hope she likes school as much as her sister.

Alivia's First Play

Alivia decided to give acting a try.  We have a great community theater group here in Wrightwood, and when they had their all children play we decided to sign up.  It's just for kids, but only Alivia wanted to try it out.  The Play was Red vs. the Wolf (a spin on little red ridding hood)  She played a butterfly, and had about 7 lines.  They had to do 5 performances, she did great!  She had all her lines memorized right away.  The only thing she wasn't very good at was waiting patiently on stage for her next line.  She would get bored and start fidgeting with her dress or wings.  Overall it was very cute, but a lot of work.  Lots of time at rehearsals, which made Aaron and Baylee very bored!

Closet update

Finally got my closet update done.  I was a little slow about it because it's been so cold here, didn't want to go out to the shop to work.  I think it looks great and I hope Matt will like his new pant rack I made him!

Bathroom Makeover

My bathroom was in need of a makeover!  The faucets were the worst part, the water barely came out, the stoppers didn't work and the brass was so tarnished it looked like I never cleaned them.  So while Matt was out of town working on our house in Florida I decided to take on a big painting project.  I easily fixed the water problem by replacing the aerator, and replaced the stopper parts.  Now the hard part, I bought 3 cans of RustOleums Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint, some primer and blue tape. Total cost about $30.  I found some old house wrap in my garage and used that as the drop cloth to cover everything else in the bathroom. Once everything was covered I started painting.  This was the hard part because my bathroom only has one little window and the paint was to be used in a "well ventilated area" so I could only paint for a minute then come back after the fumes died down.  Some things like the light fixtures and the bathtub faucet I was able to  take out.  I love the way my bathroom looks now!  I'm still working on the closet, so I'll post that next.  By the way Matt had no idea what I was planning, but he loved it too.
