Twins birthday #6!
Another year, another birthday party. The twins are 6 years old! I love this age, they are both so fun in different ways.
Alivia really loves school, she's disappointed on the weekend and asks if we have school yet. She is reading very well, I'm sometimes surprised at what she can read, it's very exciting. She loves teaching too, and Baylee is her best student. Alivia is in dance again, this time she is taking a Jazz/Hip Hop class. She really likes it, she loves to sing along with every song we hear, it's very cute. She will be starting baseball in April, this will be her 3rd year playing and really likes it too. I think she may even do soccer this fall. She really liked skiing and can't wait to go again next winter. She really loves trying new things, and I love watching her.
Aaron really loves video games! He likes school okay, but I think that's only because he will get to see his best friend Ethan. He does well in school, and doesn't complain about doing homework. Aaron is also in dance, he's in a boys Hip Hop class with many of his friends. He really likes it, he likes being goofy so it's really cute to watch. Aaron is playing baseball again this year as well. He's on the same team as Alivia. He would rather play soccer, but since soccer isn't until the fall he was willing to try baseball again. Aaron tried snowboarding this year, he had some good days and some bad. He doesn't like being cold, so there was some complaining. But he just said to me the other day he wants to go again.

The twins on the mountain
Alivia and Aaron started skiing/snowboarding this season. Alivia tried skiing, while Aaron got to snowboard. They were very excited about going. Even Baylee wanted to go, but we'll wait til next year. Alivia seemed to pick up skiing pretty well, Matt would take her all the way to the top and she could turn and slow down pretty well. Aaron had a little bit harder time on the snowboard, so Matt would have to keep a rope around him to slow him down.

Happy Birthday Baylee!
My little Baylee Sue is 4! She LOVES Octonauts, the cartoon, so of course she wanted an Octonaut birthday party. She was so excited to have a party, and I think it turned out great! She is growing up so fast. Alivia is always teaching her things she learns at school, and can't wait to start pre-school next fall. I hope she likes school as much as her sister.

Alivia's First Play
Alivia decided to give acting a try. We have a great community theater group here in Wrightwood, and when they had their all children play we decided to sign up. It's just for kids, but only Alivia wanted to try it out. The Play was Red vs. the Wolf (a spin on little red ridding hood) She played a butterfly, and had about 7 lines. They had to do 5 performances, she did great! She had all her lines memorized right away. The only thing she wasn't very good at was waiting patiently on stage for her next line. She would get bored and start fidgeting with her dress or wings. Overall it was very cute, but a lot of work. Lots of time at rehearsals, which made Aaron and Baylee very bored!

Bathroom Makeover
My bathroom was in need of a makeover! The faucets were the worst part, the water barely came out, the stoppers didn't work and the brass was so tarnished it looked like I never cleaned them. So while Matt was out of town working on our house in Florida I decided to take on a big painting project. I easily fixed the water problem by replacing the aerator, and replaced the stopper parts. Now the hard part, I bought 3 cans of RustOleums Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint, some primer and blue tape. Total cost about $30. I found some old house wrap in my garage and used that as the drop cloth to cover everything else in the bathroom. Once everything was covered I started painting. This was the hard part because my bathroom only has one little window and the paint was to be used in a "well ventilated area" so I could only paint for a minute then come back after the fumes died down. Some things like the light fixtures and the bathtub faucet I was able to take out. I love the way my bathroom looks now! I'm still working on the closet, so I'll post that next. By the way Matt had no idea what I was planning, but he loved it too.

Run For Your Lives
I let my sister talk me into a Zombie 5k run. I had started running for exercise this spring and it made since to run a 5k, but a zombie run? It turned out really fun, cold, but fun. My sister and her husband flew in the night before. We had about an hour and a half drive to Temecula, and the weather wasn't really in our favor, cool and rainy. But we were able to meet up with our cousin and his wife which made the day even more fun. The race itself wasn't really a race, it was more of a 'stay away from the zombies who are trying to take flags off our belts' run. Next years race will be close by, so maybe I'll get a group together and go again.
